Tami Tolsma is a Spartan
July 31, 2014
Last weekend, Tami Tolsma had the opportunity to participate in a Spartan race outside Washington, DC. “I’ve never been so dirty in my life,” was her comment after she crossed the finish line. Located on the Wicomico Motorsports Park in Maryland, the course was 4.5 miles of mud slides, vertical walls, rope obstacles, tire pulls, and belly crawls under barbed wire. “It was a difficult course, but my team and I competed for the fun and the thrill of the race. Anyone could participate in this race if they go at their own pace like we did. We had a great experience (in spite of the terrible smells)!” Tami finished 2,070th out of approx. 6,400 participants in 2:01:47 with her teammates and former Liberty University classmates Karen Blocker, Rachel Houseknecht, and Isaac Edgin.
